Sigma’s DP1 is a new Sigma camera with fixed lens wide angle compact and the only compact digital camera to utilize an APS-C Foveon Sensor. The Sigma DP1 has all new microlenses, a new Three-layer Responsive Ultimate Engine (”TRUE”) processing, a specially designed 28mm f/4 equivalent lens (5 groups/6 elements), a new version of Sigma’s Photo Pro RAW conversion software (v2.4 Win/v3.1Mac), and full manual controls, among other high-end features. Very sophisticated of compact camera.

What are the feature of this Sigma DP1 ?
1. It has the MAAPS modes (Manual, Auto, Aperture-priority, Program, and Shutter-priority). See for manual mode, its give you more flexible to control your setting.
2. Includes a QVGA video mode (320 x 240 @ 30fps) and an audio capture mode.
3. With 2.5-inch, 230,000-dot TFT LCD usually does a nice job of framing the image for LCD viewfinding.
4. SLR-sized image sensor with 14 Megapixel. The size of the image sensor used in the DP1 camera is 20.7mm x 13.8mm. It is approximately seven to twelve times larger than the 1/1.8inch to 1/2.5inch image sensors used in ordinary compact digital cameras.

5. Brand-new “TRUE” image processing engine. The DP1 incorporates “TRUE” (Three-layer Responsive Ultimate Engine), the world’s first image processing engine suited for Foveon three silicon embedded layer direct image sensor.
