Citrix Error when login
Some of you who working with Citrix may ever face this kind of error (see above screen shoot) : “Citrix Presentation Server license acquisition error (500): Unable to acquire a license from XXXXX server. Please contact your system administrator or open Event Viewer for more details.” This error happened when i tried to login into my Citrix Web Interface or Desktop Interface. Its the same error displayed.I tried to see in my Event Viewer log file and found this messages :”Citrix Presentation Server license acquisition error (1): Unknown licensing error while checking out a license.
Event Viewer Citrix License Error
So what should we do about this? This is related to our CITRIX License. So what we need to do is download the latest license from Citrix website. Login using your account in MyCitrix, then hover your mouse on : Choose a Toolbox > Activation System / Manage Licenses. Then in the drop down menu , choose View Licenses
View-License

Choose the details link of product description that your company buy in the Last Actived column, I choose Citrix Presentation Server Advanced for 15 user account (my company just bought for 15 user only ). Then you will see the Download link for your Citrix License. Click to download.
Because i already register my Citrix Computer Name Server before download the license, so i no need to input my Computer Name again. For you who the first time download this Citrix License, you will need to fill in the Computer Name that will used as CITRIX server. It is case sensitive, so be carefull. To know what is your computer name, just go to command prompt ( start>run>cmd ), then type hostname, then enter. It will display your computer name.
Computer Host Name
Then what the next step if i already download the Citrix License?
Next step you need to do is register your new Citrix License into your Citrix License Management Console.
Citrix License Management Console
Click on it, then Click Configure License Server. Because you already got your license from MyCitrix.com, choose Step 2: Copy license file to this license server To add or update licenses for this license server.
Browse your license file, then click Upload. Done. You already update your Citrix License with new license that you got.Next step? Just restart your Citrix Server :)
If you still got any problem related to this Citrix License? Just put your comments below, lets see what we can do to help you.

    Dear CuongDinh
Have you restart your citrix server? Did you upgrade the right license? Because last time, my boss buy different license from standard Edition to Advanced Edition.
If that the case, then you need to change the server license to Advanced Edition.
Connect to you Citrix Access Management Console > Citrix Resources> Presentation Server>[your server name]>Servers>[your server name]. In the other task column, click Set Server Edition, then choose what ever your current license applicable to. Mine is Citrix Presentation Server, Advanced Edition.
Then you need to reboot again.

Hope this help. I’ll print screen if you don’t know where to set server edition.

    Regards
